High Reliability Organisations do not seek to eliminate errors, but to understand, capture, control and contain them as part of the continuous improvement cycle.



JUST CULTURE



'Just culture' means the protection of all reporting from punitive action, with a clear understanding of acceptable and unacceptable behaviours. It does not mean 'No-Blame', people are still accountable for their actions and decisions with a sliding scale of culpability. At the end of the day, you want your people to do the right thing when no one is looking. If they can believe they are safe from mistakes made with honest intent, 'Just culture' will flourish.
